Topic: Peace, Justice and Religion Trends

Title:"Washington Rules: America's Path to Permanent War"

Speaker:Rog Rydberg

Abstract: Andrew Bacevich, retired from the army as a colonel and is now a professor of history and international relations. This book helps us understand why presidents have come and gone and yet US national security policy has remained unchanged: A worldwide military presence; armed forces configured not for defense but for global power projection; and a penchant for interventionism, whether overt or covert, anywhere and anytime. From the age of Harry Truman to the era of Barack Obama, why has this triad of principles remained sacrosanct? As much as we hope for change ... it does not come.
