Title: Jobs Futures (Part 2)

Speakers: Dick Saunders and Roger Rydberg:

Abstract: August's zero-growth in jobs numbers opened new doubts about the short-term U.S. economic picture. We sample leading economists and statisticians for post-2012 views on possible outcomes, explore some economic sectors, companies and technology trends showing job-creating potential, and review forthcoming federal debates over new stimulus ideas.Your nominations for growth sectors will be welcome.

Title:  "Future of U.S. Air Traffic Control System"

Speaker: Jim Spensley

Moderator: Dick Saunders

Abstract: The FAA is struggling to develop the concept and finding adequate funding to deploy the next-generation (NextGen) air traffic control system. What are the prospects for its completion in time to meet projected increases in air traffic by 2020? Jim Spensley, a systems engineer, is president of the South Metro Airport Action Council (SMAAC), the area's oldest citizen watchdog group over Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport's affairs.

Abstract: “World Class Innovation” was first publically announced as an Innovation Education Business startup at the World Future Society – Minnesota Chapter on 9/25/10. Co-founders and Futurists Bill Peter, David Keenan and Ed Rogers will describe the several alternative future scenarios that they envision as possible, likely and preferred over the next 25 years. They will also describe the current and expected status of World Class Innovation in the competitive environment.

Abstract: David and wife Trudi, veteran South Asia travelers, have recently returned from two weeks in Mongolia exploring its vast terrain, natural resources, cultural and political trends.They'll show slides of this emerging country and its strategic importance to both the East and the West with its treasure of rare-earth ores, oil and gas.
